The summer heat slowed us down a bit and there isn't much going on at the Janausch residency. Jonah and Alexander are growing up way too fast (and sometimes not fast enough) and are keeping us on our toes. We got completely settled in our new home and are finally starting to have some neighbors.

The biggest project on our hands is the backyard. The sprinkler system has been installed for some time, but the heat recently (around 110 degrees pretty much every day) made it almost impossible to do much work out there. We have how received our order of stones from Home Depot and can finally finish our sitting area. Hopefully, the grass and sitting area will be done in 2-3 weeks. Check out our updated pictures of the backyard progress.

We now also created a corner just for Jonah. Check it out and see some recent pictues of him.

And, over the long 4th of July weekend all of us we went on a trip to the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. It was great and Alexander had a lot of fun running around.

It has been a long long time that we have updated this web site. A lot has happend since the beginning of the year. Jonah is growing quickly and he still doesn't have his own section here. It'll come soon. Alexander is a big boy now. He is running around even more and would like to play more with his little brother than Jonah can at this time. Alexander likes Jonah very much, though, and gives him kisses all the time. They are great together.

Our house is done and we finally moved in mid March. It was a crazy time - partly to blame for the lack of updates here. All is well and we love our new home. Check out the pictures in our home progress section below. There you can follow the progress from when this spot was only a piece of desert to what it is now. We are currently working on our back yard and we'll start a new album with the latest pictures as well. We have just started so don't expect too much yet. Thank to Home Depot's Tool Rental department the trenching for the irrigation system went well, otherwise, working outside in 105 degrees wasn't too much fun.

Keep checking back as we'll try to keep this a little more up-to-date now that we got settled in our house.

Alexander and Jonah are growing up well. Alexander is very good with his new brother. He is so cute when he tries to help. He will be a great big brother when the two of them are older. Jonah is 7 weeks now. He is so much bigger than when he was born. He is also a lot more attentive. His big eyes are looking around and sometimes he smiles when he sees us. We haven't gotten around to put up any new pictures of him. As you can probably imagine we're very busy around the home these days. One of the babies generally wants food or attention at any moment in time.

We all had the flu over the past couple of weeks. We partly made good use of the holidays to recover and get well again. We're over the worst of it now and Jonah didn't get it at all. Alexander, however, didn't do so well for a few days. It was his first flu.

The holidays were relaxing for us. We also took the chance to check up on the progress of our house. A lot changed over the last month. We did our pre-drywall orientation with the super and the drywalls are up now. The house finally looks like a real house - not just a skeleton of wooden beams. We also picked our Granite slabs for the kitchen countertops last week. We'll visit the house every week now and can't wait for it to be completed. Check out the new pictures in out "Home Building Progress" section.
